Approved Scrum Alliance advanced and professional level educational offerings demonstrate an elevated level of educational content beyond the foundations of CSM ® and CSPO ®. In order to be authorized to deliver A-CSM, CSP ® -SM, A-CSPO, and/or CSP® - PO, approved trainers must demonstrate an ability to convey their expertise through the delivery and assessment of their advanced and professional level educational content.
A-CSM, A-CSPO, CSP-SM, and/or CSP-PO Course Submission Application Requirements:
- Candidate must be an active Scrum Alliance certificant in good standing (free of Scrum Alliance Code of Ethics complaints or violations).
- Candidate must hold an active CST certification.
- Candidate must hold, and have visible on their profile, an active foundational CSM and/or CSPO certification for the path they are applying to instruct.
- The CST must be previously approved to instruct the foundational CSM or CSPO course.
- Candidate must hold, and have visible on their profile, an active certification for the program they are applying to instruct (A-CSM, A-CSPO, CSP-SM, and/or CSP-PO).
- Candidate must have an A-CSM offering approved before submitting to provide CSP-SM; must have an A-CSPO offering approved before submitting to provide CSP-PO.
- Candidate must have instructed or co-instructed at least two advanced or professional-level scrum courses within the last 24 months (co-instruction should be for the course for which the candidate is applying to deliver). These courses may be certified or uncertified.
- At least one of these courses must be co-instructed with a CST approved to provide A-CSM, A-CSPO, CSP-SM, and/or CSP-PO.
- Candidate must submit mapped training materials, which validate the most recent version of the A-CSM, A-CSPO, CSP-SM, or CSP-PO learning objectives, and align to the most recent version of the Scrum Guide.
- Candidate must provide a thorough course offering overview for each course submitted, painting a portrait of the student experience. This overview must detail the minimum 16 hours (of which at least 4 hours must be live face to face) of instruction per course.
- You may be submitting course materials and/or mapping that were co-created or are proprietary to your company/employer. For the purpose of evaluating your unique application, we want to see you, and your story, come across in your materials. Show us your personal, differentiating approach to advanced and professional-level scrum mastery and/or product ownership.
- Please credit all sources where appropriate and request appropriate permission(s) for photos, illustrations, etc. Please include with your application a list of sources to be acknowledged. It is YOUR responsibility as the candidate to make sure that you have appropriate rights and licenses to any materials you use.
- If you have previously submitted an application via this platform and would like to access an archived submission, please contact applications@scrumalliance.org to have your application re-opened.
- Your application fee is valid for one year from date of original submission. After one year, your application will expire and you will need to re-submit and re-pay the application fee.
- Approved delivery of A-CSM, CSP-SM, A-CSPO and/or CSP-PO requires at least 16 hours of approved trainer:student contact, virtual or in-person, with at least 4 of those hours being live face to face. These 4 face to face hours cannot be pre-recorded.
- It is against your CST agreement to schedule or list any offerings until you are approved for delivery. Please do NOT schedule or list any courses until you have received an official approval. Evidence of this will be considered a Code of Ethics violation.
